This course provides training for people to work in the management and development of recreation and/or park facilities and services. It is relevant to all types of situations including municipal parks, national parks, tourist parks, commercial landscapes, resorts, etc.

Despite huge growth in environmental industries world wide, many graduates in environmental sciences still find a career eludes them. Often this is because their studies have not covered the subjects and skills which are in fact providing employment opportunities. This course differs from other environmental courses providing a unique opportunity to develop those "in demand" skills. 

This course is internationally accredited through International Accreditation and Recognition Council.

This course is an excellent introduction to environmental studies.  It will give the student a broad-based grounding in environmental and conservation issues and can serve as a course in its own right or as a platform for higher learning.

Learn how waste is disposed of through natural processes and how to harness those processes to better manage waste disposal. The course covers such things as water quality and treatment, recycling, domestic and industrial waste and even the management of more toxic waste.

Develop a knowledge of marine life and ecology, whether for work or general interest. The first two lessons deal with marine environments (weather, nutrient cycle, reefs, shallow and deep water environments, etc). Lessons 3 to 8 deal mostly with marine animals, particularly more complex animals, and the last lesson considers human impacts upon marine environments.

This course follows on from Marine studies I, extending your knowledge of a wide variety of marine organisms.  It works through many types of marine organisms, focusing mostly on those not covered as well in Marine Studies II (This includes: Protists, Sponges, Marine plants, Cnidarians, Worms, Arthropods, Molluscs, Echinoderms, Non Bony Fish, Selected Bony Fish and selected Marine Mammals).

"Develop sound principles of natural park management"

Learn about natural environments, and the management of zoos, wildlife parks, nature reserves. The course covers many of the fundamental tasks which people who work in such parks need to do; including weed control, soil management, land rehabilitation, landscape construction, etc.

For anyone working or having a strong interest in birds.

Learn to identify and understand the habits of different birds, from water birds and parrots, to town birds and birds of prey.

This course allows students to gain a qualification based on both work experience and study in environmental management. Select three modules/short courses best suited to your needs and submit your list to the school for approval.
