Agronomy II - New 100 hour course

New Course - Agronomy II Grains Course out now.

ACS Distance Education have recently written and released a new 100 hour course called Agronomy II, which focuses on growing cereals and grains. This course has been written by ACS Academics who have many years' experience and knowledge in the agronomy and crops industry.

This course covers not only cereals but also pulses (e.g. beans) and pseudo grains (e.g. Quinoa), which makes the course attractive for those wishing to get into growing newer crops and accessing different markets.

Grains are a major part of farming world-wide and are a very significant food for both human and animal consumption. This is a very large industry, encompassing not only the most common grains such as wheat and rice, but also many dozens of other grain crops such as Amaranth and Soybeans.

This course covers the following topics:

  1. Introduction to grains.
  2. Cerelal/grain infrastructure and machinery requirements.
  3. Wheat, Triticale, Spelt, Barley, Oats, Rye.
  4. Maize, Sorghum, Millet.
  5. Rice.
  6. Pulse crops.
  7. Pseudo cereals.
  8. Processing grains for human consumption.
  9. Grains for livestock consumption.
